If you want to lose weight, measure this

1. Waist Measurement - By measuring your waist you will have a more accurate of your weight loss wins. Using a measuring tape, measure the largest portion of your weight and record this information for future measurement. Both generalized and abdominal obesity are associated with increased risk of morbidity and mortality. The main cause of obesity‐related deaths is cardiovascular disease, for which abdominal obesity is a predisposing factor.

Pro-Holistic Care Goals - A waist as close  to 35” in both men and women is desirable for prevention

1. Waist/Height Ratio - A person's waist-to-height ratio (WThR), also called waist-to-stature ratio (WSR), is defined as their waist circumference divided by their height, both measured in the same units. The WHtR is a measure of the distribution of body fat. Higher values of WHtR indicate higher risk of obesity-related cardiovascular diseases; it is correlated with abdominal obesity.

Pro-Holistic Care Goals - A WhtR of less than .50 is desirable for prevention of chronic diseases

3. Waist to Hip Ratio - The waist to hip ratio (WHR) is used as an indicator or measure of the health of a person, and the risk of developing serious health conditions. Research shows that people with "apple-shaped" bodies (with more weight around the waist) face more health risks than those with "pear shaped" bodies who carry more weight around the hips. WHR is used as a measurement of obesity, which in turn is a possible indicator of other more serious health conditions. A WHR of 0.7 for women and 0.9 for men have been shown to correlate strongly with general health and fertility. Women within the 0.7 range have optimal levels of estrogen and are less susceptible to major diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disorders and ovarian cancers. Men with WHRs around 0.9, similarly, have been shown to be more healthy and fertile with less prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Pro-Holistic Care Goals - A WHR of less than .80 in both men and women is desirable for prevention

Utilize this simple measurements to look great, feel great and be more healthy when you lose weight.
