Bone Broth to help with Intermittent Fasting?

Bone broth is not only a delicious warm food: There’s a reason that it’s prescribed by doctors and mothers alike when you’re feeling under the weather. That’s because bone broths are nutrient-dense, easy to digest, rich in flavor and they boost healing.

Nowadays bone broth is pre-packaged and readily available in stores. Broth does contain some calories, about 40 to 50 per cup, so technically you’re breaking your fast. However, the amount is negligible, and the trade of the micronutrient-dense profile of bone broth is well worth it.

The broth has long been touted as an appetite suppressant. The compound is abundant in lipocalin 2, a hormone secreted by bone cells. Studies ( have shown that lipocalin 2 suppresses appetite in mice. It also regulates blood sugar and is currently being looked at as a potential supplement for combating obesity.

Utilizing bone broth during fasting is a good way to keep calories down why enjoying the incredible benefits of this free and straightforward lifestyle strategy.

An example of how to use bone broth during a 16 hr fasting / 8 hrs eating of an intermittent fasting strategy is to drink a cup of broth when hunger is too much to handle to push you to complete your fasting hours. In a full fasting day, use bone broth to drive to buy you a few more hours of fasting.
